Standing Statistical Reports

  • The Friday Report, updated each Friday, shows snapshots and recent trends in critical system measures
  • Special Analyses focus on specific criminal justice issues such as truth in sentencing, sex crimes against children, the aging inmate population, and the death penalty.
  • Statistical trends show historic patterns in inmate populations, jail backlogs, length of stay, releases, and recidivism.

PREA Reports

The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) 2003 prohibits and seeks to eliminate sexual assaults and sexual misconduct in correctional institutions. Pursuant to the PREA and Georgia criminal laws, the Georgia Department of Corrections is committed to protecting offenders in its custody from sexual contact or sexual misconduct. These reports include Annual PREA reports as well as facility specific audit reports.

Contraband Arrest Reports

The Georgia Department of Corrections does not tolerate contraband in any of our facilities. If an employee, volunteer, visitor, or offender in our facilities is found to have or be transporting contraband, they are arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. All visitors and employees are rigorously screened for contraband. Per Georgia Law O.C.G.A. 42-5-18, regarding contraband, requires a penalty of one to five years in prison for any individual who introduces contraband into a prison facility, and/or provides these items to an offender, as well as to any offender found with any of these items in their posession while under incarceration.
