This page links to profiles of calendar year admissions to prison of inmates with convictions any drug crime, as well as for three specific types of drugs: methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana.
Each profile has up to about ninety pages of statistics on demographic, correctional, educational, psychological, physical, criminal history, and medical information. Each page shows statistics on both male and female inmates.
If any of an inmate's convictions is for methamphetamine, cocaine, or marijuana, he/she will be included in that profile, as well as in the "any drug crime" profile. Offenses include possession, sale, trafficking, and manufacturing of various weights. An inmate with convictions for more than one type of drug may appear in three or more profiles. For example, an inmate convicted of murder, sale of cocaine, and possession of marijuana will be counted as a murderer in both the cocaine and the marijuana profiles, as well as in the "any drug" profile.
Profiles for "any drug" go back to 1975, but the profiles for specific drugs do not begin until 1990, by which time GDC's database had begun to define all the various types of specific drugs.
