Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons
On December 8 at Telfair State Prison, Food Service Supervisor Dominqiue Gordon was attempting to enter the facility, when security staff recovered approximately 46 grams of marijuana from her person. Telfair County Sheriff's Deputies transported Food Service Supervisor Gordon to the Telfair County Jail.
On December 7 at Wilcox State Prison, security staff observed an unidentified person near the rear gate of the facility. The Canine Unit conducted a search of the wood line and detained civilian James Johnson and one package of unopened contraband. Civilian Johnson was transported to the Wilcox County Jail.
On December 4 at Wilcox State Prison, Abbeville Police Department stopped a suspicious vehicle on prison grounds and the driver Jermaine Williams advised that he dropped Derick Gray off near the wood line. A search of the area was conducted, and 2 bundles wrapped in tape were discovered. Civilians Williams and Gray were placed under arrest and taken into custody by Abbeville Police Department.
On December 3 at Rogers State Prison, Tattnall County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle near the facility. Civilians Shannon Chandler and Shikica Jackson consented to a search and the officer discovered 5 packages in the vehicle. The civilians were arrested and transported to the Tattnall County Jail.
On December 2 at Ware State Prison, security staff were advised by Ware County Sheriff's Office that civilian Isaiah Brown was seen walking in front of the facility. The Canine Unit conducted a search of the grounds and discovered a package wrapped in tape in between the inner and outer perimeter fence. The package contained 2 cellphones, 115 grams tobacco and 2 chargers. Civilian Isaiah Brown was arrested by Ware County Sheriff Office and transported to jail.
