**MORE THAN 765 CIVILIANS AND 175 STAFF MEMBERS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED TO DATE FOR ATTEMPTING TO INTRODUCE CONTRABAND INTO GDC FACILITIES.**

On March 14, 2015 at Ware State Prison, the K-9 unit alerted on a vehicle belonging to visitor Amanda Tillman. The vehicle was searched and four balloons of marijuana (undetermined amount of weight) were discovered. Visitor Tillman was arrested by the Ware County Sheriff’s Office.
- On March 16, 2015 at Telfair State Prison, Correctional Officer Rodney Woods attempted to reenter the facility upon his break, returning with a flashlight in hand. Upon further inspection of the flashlight by staff, the battery was removed and two small bundles (14.45 grams) of marijuana were discovered within a cellophane wrapper inside the battery chamber. Rodney Woods was interviewed and he admitted to being in possession of marijuana within the guard line of Telfair SP. Rodney Woods was arrested by the Telfair County Sheriff’s Office.
The Department of Corrections is committed to identifying and pursuing prosecution of those persons who attempt to introduce contraband into state facilities.
