Contraband Arrests at GDC Facilities
**MORE THAN 662 CIVILIANS AND 137 STAFF MEMBERS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED TO DATE FOR ATTEMPTING TO INTRODUCE CONTRABAND INTO GDC FACILITIES.**
1) On November 21, 2013 at Augusta State Medical Prison, an Officer was working with Cadet Lucretia Nicole Davis and Cadet McCray in the control room when the officer noticed an item on the floor in the restroom. Cadet Davis picked up the item, threw it in the trash and informed the Officer that it was a roach. The officer and cadet McCray became suspicious because the item made a loud noise when it hit the bottom of the trash can. Cadet McCray retrieved the item and the CERT team was notified. A field test was conducted on the substance and it tested positive for Meth. An investigation was conducted and an additional 109.9 grams of marijuana was found in the control room and 168.4 grams of marijuana was discovered in Cadet Davis' vehicle. Additionally, officers found three cell phones and 22 letters to inmates. Cadet Davis was arrested by the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.
2) On November 21, 2013 at Calhoun State Prison, a suspicious toy helicopter was observed flying near the facility and a suspicious vehicle was observed near the facility. The Gordon County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched and gained consent to search the vehicle. Deputies found one laptop, three batteries for the helicopter, one control for the helicopter, nine cellphones and a large bundle of marijuana. The suspects within the vehicle, civilians Marc Circle, Donavan Johnson, Angel Thomas and Aaron Foster, were apprehended and admitted to operating the toy helicopter that was seen flying near the facility. All four suspects were arrested.
3) On November 23, 2013 at Autry State Prison, visitor Angelia Schilling was found to be in possession of 3/4 of ounce of marijuana, a pipe and other drug paraphernalia. Visitor Schilling was arrested by the Mitchell County Sheriff's Department.
