On Friday, December 24th, Tameka Sanders of Columbus and Deleatha Owens of Atlanta were arrested at Smith State Prison in Glennville. Both women were at the facility visiting inmates. Glennville Police and the Tattnall County K-9 Unit searched their vehicle and found numerous contraband items, including tobacco, cell phone batteries and marijuana. The Department of Corrections is committed to identifying and pursuing prosecution of those persons who attempt to introduce contraband into state facilities.
