Execution Date Set For Cobb County Murderer

Andrew Grant DeYoung to be executed Wednesday, July 20, 2011

Forsyth –The Cobb County Superior Court has ordered the execution of convicted murderer Andrew Grant DeYoung.  The Court ordered the Department to carry out the execution on a date between July 20, 2011 and July 27, 2011.  Commissioner Brian Owens has set the date for July 20, 2011 at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson at 7:00 p.m.

DeYoung was convicted in the 1993 murders of his parents, Kathryn and Gary DeYoung and sister, Sarah DeYoung.  If executed, he will be the 28th inmate put to death by lethal injection in Georgia.
