Brandon Rhode Execution Rescheduled for New Time

Brandon Rhode to be executed Friday, September 24, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

Atlanta – The Jones County Superior Court ordered the Department to carry out the execution of Brandon Rhode on a date between September 21 and September 28, 2010. To allow completion of pending litigation, Commissioner Brian Owens has changed the time of the execution from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on September 24, 2010. It will take place at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson.

Rhode was sentenced to death in 2000 for a triple murder. If executed, he will be the 25th inmate put to death by lethal injection in Georgia.
