Execution Date Set For Muscogee County Murderer

Carlton Gary to be executed Wednesday, December 16, 2009

Atlanta–The Muscogee County Superior Court has ordered the execution of convicted murderer Carlton Gary. The Court ordered the Department to carry out the execution on a date beginning December 16 and ending December 23, 2009.

The execution is scheduled to take place at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009.

Gary was sentenced to death in 1986 for the murder of three women in Columbus, Georgia.  If executed, he will be the 24th inmate put to death by lethal injection in Georgia.
