Commissioner Names New Deputy Warden of Security at Hays

Trion – Commissioner Brian Owens announced the promotion of Adam Lee as Deputy Warden of Security at Hays State Prison effective July 16, 2009. Lee will be responsible for supervising and managing all security staff and the overall management and operation of the prison. Hays State Prison is located in Trion, Ga. It currently houses 1,418 inmates and has 432 staff members. The facility houses close security, male inmates with behavioral problems that cannot be addressed at other facilities.

“Lee has worked his way through the ranks since joining the Department in 2002,” said Commissioner Owens. “I am confident that his experience will be beneficial to the staff at Hays State Prison.”

Lee was employed at Hays State Prison in August 2002 as a General Population Counselor. In August 2004, he was promoted to Probation Officer at the Rome Diversion Center and later Promoted to Probation Officer II in February 2006. In August 2007, he was promoted to General Population Unit Manager at Hays State Prison. Deputy Warden Lee is married and has four children. He resides in Summerville, Georgia.
