Atlanta–The Glynn County Superior Court has ordered the execution of convicted murderer Robert Newland. The Court ordered the Department to carry out the execution between March 10, and ending seven days later on March 17, 2009.
The execution is scheduled to take place at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification State Prison in Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2009.
Newland was sentenced to death in 1987 for killing Carol Beatty. If executed, he will be the 21st inmate put to death by lethal injection.
