Execution Date Set For Chatham County Murderer

Troy Anthony Davis to be Executed on Tuesday, September 23, 2008

Atlanta–The Chatham County Superior Court has ordered the execution of convicted murderer Troy Anthony Davis. The Court ordered the Department to carry out the execution between September 23, and ending seven days later on September 30, 2008.
The execution is scheduled to take place at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23.
Davis was sentenced to death in 1991 for the murder of Savannah police officer Mark A. McPhail.  If executed, he will be the 21st inmate put to death by lethal injection.
