Atlanta – Corrections Commissioner James E. Donald announced the appointment of David Biddle as the new Chief Probation Officer of the Blue Ridge Circuit, effective April 1, 2008.
“David Biddle’s wide range of experience is a valuable asset to the Canton Probation Office,” said Corrections Commissioner James E. Donald. “We look forward to his leadership as he assumes his new duties.”
Biddle began his career with the Georgia Department of Corrections in 1991 as a Probation Officer I in the Canton Probation Office. He has served as a Probation Officer II, Court Service Team Leader and most recently, Probation Officer III in the Blue Ridge Circuit.
Biddle graduated from West Georgia College in 1988 with a degree in Management. He has continued his education within Corrections, completing the Basic Management Training in 2001, Corrections Leadership Institute in 2006 and he attended the inaugural Chief Probation Officer’s Pre-Command Course in October 2007. David lives in Cumming with Donna, his wife of 18 years, and their two children, Lauren and Chase.
The Department of Corrections is the fifth largest prison system in the United States and is responsible for supervising nearly 60,000 state prisoners and 150,000 probationers. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 15,000 employees.
