MISSION:

Construction was completed in 1989; this center was originally built to be a detention center. It functioned as a Probation Detention Center until May 2006 when it was converted to a Pre-Release Center housing both medium and minimum offenders with less than five years remaining on either their TPM or MRD. Macon SP is the host facility.

HOUSING:

Four open dormitories with bunk beds, housing 48 offenders in three dorms and 50 in the fourth dorm. We also have isolation/segregation cells.

Macon State College, two details to Bibb County, Forestry Department, the Cities of Buena Vista & Ft Valley and Macon State Prison.

DIRECTIONS:

Take I-75 South to Byron, Exit #149. Take Hwy 49 South to Hwy 96 West on the Butler Bypass, turn right on Hwy 19. Travel approximately ½ mile to the first traffic light and turn left onto Hwy 96. Billy Boulevard is on the right and the Western Pre-release Center is at the end of the road on the left.
