MISSION:

House offenders in a setting that creates and reinforces moral behavior and meaningful employment, which then facilitates appropriate housing and successful citizenship within the community to which they return. Central SP is the host facility.

HOUSING:

Eight double-bunked dormitories.

WORK DETAILS

Some residents are assigned as permanent workers in food service, sanitation and building maintenance. The majority of the residents are assigned to work release.

  • Counseling: Individual, Pre-Release, Job Readiness, Re-Entry Skill Building, Work Release, Vocational Rehabilitation, Residence Planning, Family Reintegration, MRT, AA/NA, P4L
  • Recreation: General Recreation, Basketball, Horseshoes, Volleyball, Walking Track
  • Religious Activities: Various Worship Services, Bible Study, Chaplain Counseling Services
  • Vocational/OJT: Food Service, Barbershop, Laundry, General Maintenance

DIRECTIONS:

Take I-75 south to Macon, exit on Mercer University Drive and turn left (East). Continue straight until you reach the traffic light at Telfair Street and turn left. Continue on Telfair Street for two (2) blocks and turn right at the traffic light onto Hazel. Continue to the first stop sign and turn left onto Second Street. Macon Transitional Center is located on the right.
