MISSION:

Ensure public safety and effectively house offenders while operating a safe and secure facility. Also house close security general population prisoners; includes an in-house transitional center. (Sex Offender Release Site)

HOUSING:

Ten general population cellblocks with 962 total beds - all double bunked. Two isolation/segregation units with 86 total beds - double bunked. Four open bay tent units with 256 total beds - double bunked. 200 beds Annex consisting of four-open bay dorms with 50 beds each double bunked.

DIRECTIONS:

Take I-20 east to Exit 138, Siloam and turn right. Travel to GA Route 15. Turn left onto Hwy 15 South to Sparta (25 miles). Turn left at courthouse and follow Hwy 15 through Sparta, bear right onto Hwy 15 towards Sandersville. Take a right at the BP station onto Cody Johnson Road. (There will be a small institution sign) Proceed about two miles and Hancock State Prison is on the right.
