MISSION:

Ensure public safety and effectively house close security offenders while operating a safe and secure facility. Other missions include Mental Health Level III services including a Supportive Living Unit, nine Acute Care beds and seven Crisis Stabilization beds. Additionally, we provide Mental Health evaluation and support services for 27 facilities. Host facility for a Transportation Hub; a 16 bed infirmary as well as several on-site specialty clinics are offered to provide care on an as needed basis.

HOUSING:

Consists of seven housing units or 754 GP beds in open dormitory, tiered living unit, or two-man cell design. Housing also includes Acute Care, Crisis Stabilization, hospital infirmary and segregation.

One detail each for Outside Grounds, Georgia Military College, Care and Custody, Colony Farm, Arnall Building, Food Distribution Unit Meat Plant, Food Distribution Maintenance, Food Distribution Vehicle Maintenance, CSH Laundry, GCI Warehouse and the GA State Patrol .

DIRECTIONS:

Take I-20E to Exit #113. Turn right onto Hwy 441 South to Milledgeville. Once in the city limits, go through two traffic lights. At the third traffic light turn right on Roberson Mill Road. Cross railroad tracks; Roberson Mill Road turns into Hwy 441 Bypass. After the fourth traffic light, merge to the far left lane. Take the first left at Midway School. Turn on the second paved road on the left, Laying Farm Road and Baldwin State Prison will be at the top of the hill on the left.
