What is Research and Evaluation?

Research and Evaluation is a component of Risk Reduction Services responsible for supporting current program initiatives as well as determining their value in reducing recidivism

Profile of Research and Evaluation

  • Ensures the effectiveness of current programming through evaluation and assessment processes
  • Provides strategic and operational planning in the development of evaluation and performance measures for program components
  • Coordinates with external research professionals in conducting outcome and process evaluations
  • Works in an advisory capacity with each programmatic area in Risk Reduction Services

Research and Evaluation evaluates sites for outcome measurements based on research-based programs indicating change in:

  • Intermediate Measures:
    • Technical Violations
    • Disciplinary Reports
    • Grievances
    • Drug Screens
  • Long Range Measure:
    • Recidivism rates

Research and Evaluation also provides current program data of enrollments, completions, terminations, etc. for use as a quality assurance measure, as well as a basis for budgeting in the following areas:

  • Academic Education
  • Workforce Development
  • Cognitive-Behavioral
  • Substance Abuse
