The 12,000 employees for the Georgia Department of Corrections are the agency's most valuable resource. Corrections Human Resources Management (CHRM), the primary human resources office in the department, is responsible for all human resource functions within the department. Where Do Our Employees Work?

It provides oversight, consultation, technical assistance, and policy direction for correctional facilities, probation offices, and the various departmental units located across the state, which are charged with carrying out personnel functions at the local level. The Corrections Division is responsible for the supervision of sentenced offenders, from those confined to prison or sentenced to probation. The Administration Division is responsible for all administrative functions of the department, from budgets to purchasing. Operations, Planning and Training oversees programmatic and other services for employees and offenders. Executive Operations, of which Corrections Human Resources Management is a part, consists of the Commissioner's Office and his staff.
