The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) is responding with all available resources to help lessen the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) into our facilities.
The GDC has compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions in an effort to assist with information important to friends and family of offenders.
The following is a list of general COVID-19 information provided to offenders. Additional materials, including posters and a more detailed outline of COVID-19 via communication from the Warden, and display of posters around the facilities have also been provided.
All updates related to visitation at GDC facilities will be provided here and on Twitter @GACorrections. Visitation at all GDC facilities will remain suspended through October 10, 2020. A decision regarding future visitation schedules will be evaluated after October 10, in keeping with public health guidance in place at that time.
The GDC will maintain a COVID-19 dashboard for providing status of COVID-19 cases among GDC staff (self-reported), as well as among the state, county and private facility offender population. This dashboard will be updated daily at 6:00pm, based on the most recent data available from the GDC’s Office of Health Services.
For the most current public information released by the GDC, please refer to our press releases and social media channels. All updates will be provided here, as soon as they become available.
